Jason P.
Jason is a self-starting, go-getting lawyer who takes a pragmatic approach to helping his clients. He co-founded Fortify Law because he was not satisfied with the traditional approach to providing legal services. He firmly believes that legal costs should be predictable, transparent and value-driven. Jason’s entrepreneurial mindset enables him to better understand his clients’ needs. His first taste of entrepreneurship came from an early age when he helped manage his family’s small free range cattle farm. Every morning, before school, he would deliver hay to a herd of 50 hungry cows. In addition, he was responsible for sweeping "the shop" at his parent's 40-employee HVAC business. Before becoming a lawyer, he clerked at the Lewis & Clark Small Business Legal Clinic where he handled a diverse range of legal issues including establishing new businesses, registering trademarks, and drafting contracts. He also spent time working with the in-house team at adidas® where, among other things, he reviewed and negotiated complex agreements and created training materials for employees. He also previously worked with Meriwether Group, a Portland-based business consulting firm focused on accelerating the growth of disruptive consumer brands and facilitating founder exits. These experiences have enabled Jason to not only understand the unique legal hurdles that can threaten a business, but also help position them for growth. Jason's practice focuses on Business and Intellectual Property Law, including: -Reviewing and negotiating contracts -Resolving internal corporate disputes -Creating employment and HR policies -Registering and protecting intellectual property -Forming new businesses and subsidiaries -Facilitating Business mergers, acquisitions, and exit strategies -Conducting international business transactions In his free time, Jason is an adventure junkie and gear-head. Demand Letter

Can you help me write and send a Demand Letter to PayPal Inc which is based in CA and my LLC was formed in DE
PayPal unlawfully took my money (over $7k) just like they did with Eric please see the post - https://www.pokertube.com/article/chris-moneymaker-lawyers-up-to-sue-paypal-for-seized-funds I joined the lawsuit but I know that some people got their money back by sending demand letters to PayPal so I want to send one too. I want your help to draft the letter and send the actual physical copy. Chances of it working are far greater if it is coming from an attorney than an individual.
Donya G.
Agreed; however, in order for a demand letter to be the most effective, it needs to be drafted by an attorney that is licensed in the state of the issue; for you, you will need a CA licensed attorney. This will ensure that when the demand letter is served by a CA attorney, the company will know that the attorney is licensed to bring a lawsuit in that state and therefore, it typically will ensure that it the demand letter is not ignored. You will need to post your job request on the website "Looking for a CA lawyer to send demand letter to PayPal" and outline what you need the lawyer to do. Lawyers licensed in CA will respond to your post, and after you speak with and choose a lawyer, the work can be done. Be sure to discuss and agree upon the price and the time in which you would like the work to be completed. All the best, Donya Gordon

Do you take cases for unemployment overpayment benefits?
In 2020 during covid my business was forced to shut down. I was also working, I had a job and I owned an event planning business. before filing for UI I called in to ensure I was able to file for the PUA for my business. I was told by the representative yes I can. in her words she said "anyone can apply for the PUA" she did not explained to me that I cannot apply if I had another job, or what the conditions were, as I have never filed for or been on unemployment in my life until covid happened. In september 2022 I received a letter stating that I was overpaid benefits in the amount of $62000. I filed for a weaver which I was not qualified for, then I appealed and the judge ordered a recalculation and that amount went from $62K to $58K. I cannot pay this money and I need help in fighting that this was not my fault. My taxes will be garnished every year until this is paid off. I am hoping someone out there can be of assistance to me, I really need it.
Donya G.
Hello, I am sorry for the mix up. I worked with a client last year with similar circumstances. She was overpaid as well. We had a hearing and it was determined, since she had never filed before and English is not her first language that she had not done it intentionally so that fine on the payment was removed. That being said, if you were overpaid, you will need to repay the amount. She signed up on a payment plan. I suggest you do the same. If you need to engage my services to assist you, you can find me on Contracts Counsel website or my personal page Regards Donya Gordon

litigation over partnership
Partner is diverting monies for his own use
Donya G.
Hello, I am sorry to hear that. Do you have a contract for the partnership? What does it say about resolving disputes? Do you have evidence of the misuse of funds? Can you cut off the funds so that they can no longer misuse the funds? For your safety, please do not confront the partner. All your remedies will depend on your agreement and the state of your business incorporation or where you do business. I see you are in New York. Is that where your business is incorporated? I would love the opportunity to work with you to resolve this. I am an New York contracts attorney who works with clients on contract disputes. I am an Arbitrator and have been a judicial clerk to a Civil Court Judge so I have extensive experience with disputes. When can we get on a call to discuss? I am available later today, Friday 18th or anytime next week. You can connect with me on Contracts Counsel. Looking forward to hearing from and working with you. Sincerely Donya Gordon

I am being harassed by a vendor for the balance due for product that i have not received yet. Can i take them to court?
After receiving the incorrect product, the vendor presented me with a fake contract with my signature copy pasted on it to tell me I i agreed on the replacement product for my order. They claim they had a second meeting with me and this new contract was signed but that never happened.
Donya G.
I would suggest hiring an attorney in your jurisdiction to send a cease and desist letter to the vendor or have them simply call the vendor nd tell them to stop harassing you. For a cease and desist to have the effect that matters, it should be from a licensed attorney in that state who can file any case in court if the matter is not addressed or continues to happen. I am an attorney licensed in New York and Connecticut. There are numerous attorneys on this website from other states. If you would like me to assist, please contact me through the site or post your jobs for another attorney. All the best Donya Gordon

Quick, user friendly and one of the better ways I've come across to get ahold of lawyers willing to take new clients.
View Trustpilot ReviewContracts Counsel was incredibly helpful and easy to use. I submitted a project for a lawyer's help within a day I had received over 6 proposals from qualified lawyers. I submitted a bid that works best for my business and we went forward with the project.
View Trustpilot ReviewI never knew how difficult it was to obtain representation or a lawyer, and ContractsCounsel was EXACTLY the type of service I was hoping for when I was in a pinch. Working with their service was efficient, effective and made me feel in control. Thank you so much and should I ever need attorney services down the road, I'll certainly be a repeat customer.
View Trustpilot ReviewI got 5 bids within 24h of posting my project. I choose the person who provided the most detailed and relevant intro letter, highlighting their experience relevant to my project. I am very satisfied with the outcome and quality of the two agreements that were produced, they actually far exceed my expectations.
