I sold my house but was never paid
To avoid foreclosure, I spoke with a contractor to flip my house for me. He would pay my mortgage until it sold then pay it off and keep the profit. I walk away with the mortgage company paid, but I was fouled. He isn't paying the mortgage after I signed the contract. I'm concerned he will be able to sell it now himself without the mortgage company ever being paid.

There are many issues involved in this question. I would need to see the original deed and mortgage on your house plus the contract you signed with the contractor. The original mortgage almost certainly had an acceleration clause stating that if you sold the property, then the full mortgage becomes due. Going after the contractor might be possible but other avenues would more likely be the better route to keep your house from being foreclosed. Will also need to see if your contract gives ownership to the contractor or just the right to sell on your behalf. Lots of additional questions that need documents to give you your options.

Reviewing a business contract: cost?
I am starting a new business and need to enter into a contract with a supplier. I have been provided with a contract to review, but I am unsure of the associated costs. I am looking for legal advice on the cost of reviewing the contract and whether there are any potential pitfalls or areas of risk that I should be aware of before signing.

The cost will depend on several factors: - Length of the document - Quality of the contract (if it's poorly drafted then it will require more work to revise) - Complexity of the transaction (the more complex, the more time is needed to understand it and solve problems) - Your leverage vs. the supplier's (if you don't much leverage, then the contract will require a lighter touch as far as revisions) The best course of action is to do an initial consultation with your lawyer of choice to discuss the above. After that, the lawyer will be able to give you a sense of the cost, and make a proposal on either an hourly rate or a flat fee.

They can provide you with tailored advice and ensure your NDA complies with applicable laws in your jurisdiction. Basic NDA Structure: Title: Start with a clear title such as "Non-Disclosure Agreement" or "Confidentiality Agreement." Parties: Identify the parties involved, including your business and the other party. Recitals or Purpose: Include a brief statement explaining the purpose of the agreement, such as why the parties are entering into it. Definition of Confidential Information: Define what constitutes confidential information. Be as specific as possible to leave no room for ambiguity. Looking for legal advice on a non-compete agreement in NY State
I am an existing employee of a medium sized privately owed manufacturing company and have worked here for over 15 years. I recently was asked to sign a non-compete and non-disclosure agreement. I have had a series of promotions over the last 7 years but this agreement was presented several months after my latest promotion without any additional consideration for signing this agreement now.

Signing a non compete or a non disclosure is not in and of itself illegal. In NY and in most states a non compete are individually accessed based on the language and scope (how long and what the non compete entails) and is generally examined by courts under a watchful eye as long as its not too restrictive or burdensome and would not prevent the free movement of goods and services.
