Physician employment agreement accounting treatment?

I am a physician who has been offered an employment agreement with a healthcare provider. I am looking to understand the accounting treatment of this agreement. I am interested in ensuring that the agreement is in compliance with all applicable accounting regulations and that I am properly compensated for my services.

There are a number of issues in such agreements. You are probably an employee rather than a contractor of the provider.
