Acknowledgement Agreement: Definition & Sample

What is an Acknowledgement Agreement?

An acknowledgement agreement is a legal document formalizing some agreement between parties. The agreement acts as an official acknowledgement of the particular fact the parties are agreeing to. Sometimes this is used to have one party agree to restrictions or obligations that are not set out in an original agreement.

Acknowledgement agreements can take place in mortgage and lending situations allowing a creditor to obtain security interest. In addition, it can be used between companies to outline a specific change and the agreement of action over that change.
