What is a Capital Support Agreement?

A capital support agreement is a contract between a company and lender that promises a contribution at least equal to the amount the company must pay investors. This dollar amount, called the capital commitment, is an important aspect of maintaining the company-investor relationship. Completing payments in a timely fashion and as per the original agreement is vital to maintaining an amicable relationship. When companies need support holding up their end of the bargain, a capital support agreement provides them with the support they need.

The purpose of the capital support agreement is to provide certain guarantees to both parties requiring what support is being offered and what the terms and condtions of accepting it are.
