What is an Exhibition Agreement?
An exhibition agreement is a contract between an exhibition institution and an artist that allows the institution to display art temporarily. The contract identifies the institution and the artist and mentions which works of art are applicable to the contract. It also sets the timeframe for when the exhibition period is to take place and what the artist will receive in return for their permission to exhibit the work.
The purpose of the exhibition agreement is to create a legally-binding contract between exhibitioner and artist that protects the legal rights of both parties.
