A keep well agreement is made to ensure the solvency and financial support between a parent company and a subsidiary during a period specified in the contract. Also known as letters of comfort, these agreements help the development of the subsidiary or parent company and supports the shareholders and bondholders of both companies.
If there are reliability issues regarding the subsidiary, it is also ensured that the party can fulfill its financial obligations and operate smoothly. In other words, the keep well agreement can enable a subsidiary company to stay on good terms with partners, lenders, and ultimately, the customers of their businesses.
