Jason is a self-starting, go-getting lawyer who takes a pragmatic approach to helping his clients. He co-founded Fortify Law because he was not satisfied with the traditional approach to providing legal services. His first taste of entrepreneurship came from an early age when he helped manage his family’s small free range cattle farm. Every morning, before school, he would deliver hay to a herd of 50 hungry cows. In addition, he was responsible for sweeping "the shop" at his parent's 40-employee HVAC business. Before becoming a lawyer, he clerked at the Lewis & Clark Small Business Legal Clinic where he handled a diverse range of legal issues including establishing new businesses, registering trademarks, and drafting contracts. He also spent time working with the in-house team at adidas® where, among other things, he reviewed and negotiated complex agreements and created training materials for employees. He also previously worked with Meriwether Group, a Portland-based business consulting firm focused on accelerating the growth of disruptive consumer brands and facilitating founder exits. These experiences have enabled Jason to not only understand the unique legal hurdles that can threaten a business, but also help position them for growth. Jason's practice focuses on Business and Intellectual Property Law, including: -Reviewing and negotiating contracts -Resolving internal corporate disputes -Creating employment and HR policies -Registering and protecting intellectual property -Forming new businesses and subsidiaries -Facilitating Business mergers, acquisitions, and exit strategies -Conducting international business transactions In his free time, Jason is an adventure junkie and gear-head. Diamond R.
July 29, 2023 My name is Diamond Simpson Roberts, ESQ, MSPH and I am convinced that I can be a value added asset to most any company. As the first in my family to graduate a four-year university, I graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 2000 but could not afford a bar prep course upon completion. After over 20 years, I sat for the July 2022 UBE, successfully passed and am currently licensed in three states! This is an example of my self-motivation, internal drive and passion. I offer over 28 years of diverse experience in healthcare, strategy, sales/marketing, legal/policy and business savvy. I have many years building, leveraging, and sustaining long term relations to drive revenue as an entrepreneur and for corporations. My analytical strengths provide me with an innate ability to think through tough situations/topics while viewing both vantage points (which is excellent for law and life). I have been appointed to serve on numerous committees due to my heightened ability to identify client issues and priorities and provide solutions based upon relevant products, services and needs. I have led teams with and without authority; specifically, I have managed teams for an Adult Foster Care Facility called Etonne Cares, during my post-graduate fellowship with the largest Catholic Healthcare System in the U.S. and during my two-year executive order appointment with the Federal Government (Presidential Management Fellowship). Most importantly, I am a collaborative team player who knows how to improvise, overcome and adapt! I offer numerous years of being a pharmaceutical trainer and being an adjunct using the online platform. I welcome the opportunity to continue in the interview so that I may further highlight the skills I can (and will) contribute to my success in the role. Respectfully, Diamond Simpson Roberts, ESQ, MSPH DQSSIMPSON@GMAIL.COM M: 313-942-6747

Postnuptial Agreement
New York
What is the point of a postnuptial agreement?
I just got married and chose not to create a prenup.
Jane C.
A postnuptial agreement outlines how assets and child care responsibilities will be divided in the event of separation or divorce. Prenuptial Agreement
Texas
Can a prenuptial agreement be challenged in court?
I am recently engaged and am considering entering into a prenuptial agreement with my fiancé. We have differing financial backgrounds and I am concerned that the agreement may not be fair to either of us. I want to understand if a prenuptial agreement can be challenged in court and the conditions under which this could happen.
Nicole P.
Texas calls prenuptial agreements "Premarital Agreements". These agreements, just like any other contract, can be challenged in court. A challenge to the agreement does not mean it will be found invalid, however. Surviving a challenge to the premarital agreement is primarily accomplished all the way back to when the agreement is drafted and executed. There are requirements or prohibitions for the agreement terms to be valid, which are too numerous to list here, but can be found in the Texas Family Code, chapter 4. In Texas, no consideration is required, but the Agreement must be in writing, and signed by both parties. It must be free from fraud and duress, and entered into voluntarily. It cannot be unconscionable, and the parties must provide a fair and reasonable disclosure of the property and financial obligations (unless waived). Enforcement of a premarital agreement falls under the Texas Family Code 4.006. Additionally, any provision that would adversely affect the support of children is going to be prohibited. Conservatorship and possession/access (custody and visitation) will always be determined by the Court under the best interest of the children standard, regardless of what may have been put into the agreement. The best way to survive a challenge is to hire a competent attorney to draft the agreement, ensure the agreement complies with the Texas Family Code, provide a fair and reasonable disclosure from both parties, both parties being represented by their own attorney when entering into the agreement, and ensuring the agreement is available for review far in advance of the wedding date.

Medical Agreement
Virginia
My daughter who is 20 left the house with a man who is 15 year her senior am I obligated to had over all her personal documents
She does have some medical issues that needs medical appointments one for her eyes and heart when she was born I had German measles and she needs constant care
Michael T.
If she's fully competent, then at 20 years old she is entitled to make her own decisions about who she has relationships with. If you have documents that she needs to engage competent medical care, then, yes; she should have those documents. In theory, if she needed them badly enough, she could sue you for possession of the documents (it's called a replevin lawsuit). Withholding documents about her medical care in order to force her to obey you regarding her relationship choices could cause you legal trouble down the road. Not to mention the cost it will have to your personal relationship with her. You're better off in the long run making sure she gets her needed medical care and being there to support her if and when her relationship sours. Trying to hold her documents over her is not a good idea, either from a legal standpoint or a human standpoint. Good luck and I wish you the best.

Separation Agreement
New Jersey
What is the difference between a separation agreement and divorce?
I am considering options with my partner and don't want to go through a divorce if it isn't needed.
Jane C.
Divorce is the legal termination of marriage. With a separation agreement, the couple remains married and the court outlines their rights and responsibilities while living apart. Custodial Agreement
Michigan
Who do I contact for a cease and desist order
Daughters dads mom keeps harassing and threatening to call CPS and has called CPS on me to be able to see my daughter. I have given her ample chances to fix her mistakes cuz with her she won’t listen to the parent she does and takes things upon herself. Need this stopped please
David H.
Hello, my name is David hatch I'm a Michigan licensed attorney. I have several years of experience with parenting time and custody issues. That appears to be what you're asking about. It would be helpful first to understand more about the situation. Like if there is a divorce decree and find some time order or any other type of order related to the children in the situation you're dealing with. Once I understand the situation I can help you determine a course of action.
Quick, user friendly and one of the better ways I've come across to get ahold of lawyers willing to take new clients.

Contracts Counsel was incredibly helpful and easy to use. I submitted a project for a lawyer's help within a day I had received over 6 proposals from qualified lawyers. I submitted a bid that works best for my business and we went forward with the project.
View Trustpilot ReviewI never knew how difficult it was to obtain representation or a lawyer, and ContractsCounsel was EXACTLY the type of service I was hoping for when I was in a pinch. Working with their service was efficient, effective and made me feel in control. Thank you so much and should I ever need attorney services down the road, I'll certainly be a repeat customer.
View Trustpilot ReviewI got 5 bids within 24h of posting my project. I choose the person who provided the most detailed and relevant intro letter, highlighting their experience relevant to my project. I am very satisfied with the outcome and quality of the two agreements that were produced, they actually far exceed my expectations.
