Included would be an initial consultation where we discuss your rights under the law generally and specifically as to your situation. This typically takes 1-1 1/2 hours. Prior to your consultation, I would have you fill out an information form as to your assets, debts, incomes and other general information relative to your marital estate and custody. There may a need for you to provide financial information (ie: bank statements, retirement statements, pay statements etc...). After our discussion and review of pertinent information, I typically would "run some numbers" so that I can give you my calculations as to the division of assets and some options. I would send you a written document showing these calculations to review and we would have another conversation about what you are agreeable to. Based on that conversation, I would draft the Property Settlement Agreement / Separation Agreement. Turnaround time for this is usually 3-4 days after our second discussion. I would review the draft with you and then if approved by you, would send it to your spouse or spouse's attorney. Some negotiation would be expected with the hopes of reaching a final acceptable agreement for you both to sign. This fee does include emailed questions, additional phone calls, calls and communications with opposing counsel and revisions to the agreement. This fee does not include any litigation or court appearances. Total turnaround depends on negotiations.
