What is a Coverage Agreement?
A coverage agreement is a contract between an insurance company and an insured party that goes over what coverages are available to the name insured. The contract states when insurance coverage starts and ends, when payments are due, and how they must be made. It also goes into great details regarding what events are covered and which are not. If additional premiums are available to extend coverage to more areas, that information can also be located within the coverage agreement.
The purpose of the coverage agreement is to ensure that both parties understand and agree to the roles and responsibilities they will take on after contract signing.
