What is a Peering Agreement?
A peering agreement is a legal contract between two network administrators who agree to share data routing duties across many networks. Thise type of agreement makes it easier and more cost effective to send and share information versus paying a third party to host and route data across a network. Most of the time, at least one contract party in a peering agreement is an Internet Service Provider, or ISP.
The purpose of the peering agreement is to unite contract parties toward a common goal of hosting and routing information for access on the internet.
