"My experience with the attorney did not meet my expectations for a thorough review of the contract with recommendations for changes that mitigate possible negative impact on me. The total project cost for reviewing a boilerplate independent contractor agreement was more than the hourly rate, but our meeting was about 30-minutes and I didn't feel as though she had prepared - reviewed the document prior to meeting, indicated areas that were red flags, etc. Neither was there any getting to know me, the services I provide my employer, or providing counsel on what contract language may put me at risk in that working relationship. Redlining and suggesting language to change the contract would have doubled the quoted project cost."
