I have also worked in bankruptcy, family law, collections, employment law, and personal injury. Employment Offer
Arizona
Can I get an advance on accepting the employment offer?
I recently received an offer for a position that I am very interested in, but I am concerned about the timeline of the offer. I need to give an answer soon, but I'm not sure if I can afford to take the job right away. I'm wondering if it's possible to get an advance on accepting the employment offer so that I can make a more informed decision.
Brian W.
Yes, it is possible. Remember opportunities with employers should be mutually beneficial. Ultimately, you will receive an offer from the employer that you negotiate. In all negotiations, negotiate confidently and reasonably. It is ok to walk away from an offer if it does not meet you expectations.

LLC Operating Agreement
Idaho
Who do I submit my operating agreement to?
I understand that for a LLC for rental property, liabilty protection, an operating agreement is good. However, once this is completed, what do you do with the agreement to ensure your protected? Does it get filed with the State of the LLC or is it something that can just be filed away at home. It seems it would need to be filed or someone could just change the agreement at home dependent on any situation that came up to protect themselves better which seem like fraud.
T. Phillip B.
The operating agreement is just one of the many things you need to do to show that you are treating this LLC as separate from you personally. With that being said, you will put the operating agreement into a records books with other things like your articles of organization, other government filings, membership ledger, etc. Then keep it at the primary place of business.

Affidavit
Illinois
Lien on business name
My husband and I started a transportation company recently and learned a Lein has been put on the business by a company we have never heard of nor have any affiliation with
T. Phillip B.
Are you talking about a UCC lien? See 810 ILCS 5/9-501 et seq. for some information about fraudulent filings. The Secretary of State also has a form for an Affidavit of Fraudulent Record which you could file. Additionally, you could file a termination which is also available with the Secretary of State.

Joint Venture Contract
Texas
Any tax benefits of a joint venture?
I am currently exploring the possibility of forming a joint venture with another company to pursue a business opportunity. While I am aware of the potential benefits of sharing resources and expertise with another company, I am also interested in understanding if there are any tax advantages to forming a joint venture. Therefore, I would like to seek the advice of a lawyer to guide me through the potential tax benefits and implications of a joint venture.
Jimmy V.
A joint venture is a type of partnership. Unless the partnership elects to be taxed like a corporation, it is a pass-through entity for income tax purposes. In other words, there is no taxation at the company level, just at the individual level. View Trustpilot ReviewContracts Counsel was incredibly helpful and easy to use. I submitted a project for a lawyer's help within a day I had received over 6 proposals from qualified lawyers. I submitted a bid that works best for my business and we went forward with the project.
View Trustpilot ReviewI never knew how difficult it was to obtain representation or a lawyer, and ContractsCounsel was EXACTLY the type of service I was hoping for when I was in a pinch. Working with their service was efficient, effective and made me feel in control. Thank you so much and should I ever need attorney services down the road, I'll certainly be a repeat customer.
View Trustpilot ReviewI got 5 bids within 24h of posting my project. I choose the person who provided the most detailed and relevant intro letter, highlighting their experience relevant to my project. I am very satisfied with the outcome and quality of the two agreements that were produced, they actually far exceed my expectations.
