Can a seller back out of a Real Estate Sale Agreement after signing it?
I recently entered into a Real Estate Sale Agreement with a seller to purchase a property. However, a few days after signing the agreement, the seller expressed their desire to back out of the deal. They claim that they received a better offer from another buyer. I'm wondering if the seller has the right to do this, or if I have any legal recourse to enforce the agreement and proceed with the purchase of the property.

I am an existing employee of a medium sized privately owed manufacturing company and have worked here for over 15 years. I recently was asked to sign a non-compete and non-disclosure agreement. I have had a series of promotions over the last 7 years but this agreement was presented several months after my latest promotion without any additional consideration for signing this agreement now.

Signing a non compete or a non disclosure is not in and of itself illegal. In NY and in most states a non compete are individually accessed based on the language and scope (how long and what the non compete entails) and is generally examined by courts under a watchful eye as long as its not too restrictive or burdensome and would not prevent the free movement of goods and services. I recently entered into a debt settlement agreement with a company and I am concerned about the due diligence that was conducted by the company. I am worried that I may have been taken advantage of and I would like to know if the agreement is legally binding. I would also like to know what options I have if the agreement turns out to be invalid.

The only way to tell if your agreement is legally binding and what options you have is to have an attorney review it. However, if all the parties have signed the agreement, it is most likely legal.

Can an employer enforce an IP Assignment Agreement if it was signed after an employee had already started working for the company?
I recently started working for a tech company and was asked to sign an IP Assignment Agreement, which states that any intellectual property I create during my employment belongs to the company. However, I had already been working on a personal project before joining the company, and now I'm concerned that they might try to claim ownership of it. I want to know if the agreement is enforceable, given that it was signed after I had already started working for them.

I hope that you have not yet signed this agreement, because it may indeed be enforceable. If it has not yet been signed, amend the agreement to exclude the personal project from the agreement before you sign it.
