What is Common Stock?
Common stocks are purchased and sold through the stock market. They are the regular shares company's issue to the public for sale. Common stock shareholders have a right to vote on company issues, including leadership and takeovers. Startups also issue common stock to investors in priced rounds.
Most common stockholders receive one voting right per share purchase. Advantages of common stock include a high rate of return. It also allows the startup issuer to obtain capital for services and goods.
