What is an Acqui Hire?
Acqui hires, also known as talent acquisitions or acquisition hires, occur when a startup company purchases another company solely based on its available talent. Typically, the original product becomes secondary in importance as compared to the new acquirer. An acquihire offers an exit strategy to employees. At the same time, they receive enjoyment from being bought out by a much larger, more prominent company.
