Garrett M.
Attorney Garrett Mayleben's practice is focused on representing small businesses and the working people that make them profitable. Though industry agnostic, Garrett has particular experience representing medical, dental, veterinary, and chiropractic practices in various business transactions, transitions, and the structuring of related management service organizations (MSOs).
"Though I found a few small mistakes that made me think he rushed a bit, he revised the agreement to be more in my favor. His expertise was well worth it."

Tim E.
I am a business attorney focused on providing practical, targeted legal services for small businesses, startups, contractors, consultants, and service providers. I help clients efficiently review, draft, and improve everyday business contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, independent contractor agreements, vendor contracts, commercial leases, and purchase documents. My approach is straightforward: identify the terms that matter, explain risks in plain English, and deliver clear, usable edits or drafts without unnecessary complexity. I regularly handle fixed-fee, quick-turnaround projects such as contract reviews, agreement drafting, and demand or termination letters. While I offer streamlined, project-based services for routine matters, I can also assist with broader business legal needs as they arise.
"Excellent experience with Tim on my relatively complex EULA for a suite of network appliance products. Tim was very fair with pricing, responsive, diligent, thorough, technically knowledgeable, took the time to address all my questions and concerns, and finished (with revision) on schedule and budget. Great experience overall and I'll definitely be using Tim for more work in the future with my business. I'll also be using Contract Counsel and recommending it to everyone I know as well! THANK YOU! -Devin"

Paul S.
I focus my practice on startups and small to mid-size businesses, because they have unique needs that mid-size and large law firms aren't well-equipped to service. I combine my business experience with my legal expertise, to provide practical advice to my clients. I am licensed in Ohio and California, and I leverage the latest in technology to provide top quality legal services to a nationwide client-base. This enables me to serve my clients in a cost-effective manner that doesn't skimp on personal service.
"Was my great pleasure working with Paul. He is very knowledgeable about startups/companies, professional, wise, and supportive. I would highly recommend him."

Draft Loan and Business Agreement for Welding Business in Ohio
"Original contract was delivered quickly. I wrote back a question which took over 24 hours for a response. Bit disappointed in that. The contract is fine I guess but I was pretty impressed with the overall experience."
Reply From Heather B.
Zackary Henry: I take client experience, communication, and the quality of my work seriously. For context, this engagement moved quickly from the outset. After you formally retained me and provided the requested transaction terms, I reviewed the information and delivered a customized draft agreement in less than 24 hours. The draft addressed the material points you provided, including the $6,600 loan, repayment cap, monthly payment formula tied to the greater of specified profit measures or a fixed minimum payment, first-payment timing, late fee, continuing profit-participation rights after repayment, Ohio governing-law provisions, a personal guaranty, reporting and audit rights, and successor/anti-evasion protections intended to address the concern that a business name, ownership, or operational change could be used to avoid ongoing obligations. The agreement also contained certain placeholders because execution-ready legal documents require final confirmation of details that should not be assumed, such as final legal names, addresses, notice details, dates, and other transaction-specific information. Leaving those items open for confirmation is intentional and helps avoid inserting inaccurate information into a binding agreement. When you asked whether those fields needed to be completed, I promptly clarified that they should be filled in as applicable before the parties fully execute the document. I respectfully note that there was never any period of more than 24 hours in which I did not respond to you. While I understand that clients may desire near-instant responses, I worked to remain responsive throughout the engagement while also ensuring that the agreement was carefully tailored to the requested commercial terms rather than relying on a generic template.

I got 5 bids within 24h of posting my project. I choose the person who provided the most detailed and relevant intro letter, highlighting their experience relevant to my project. I am very satisfied with the outcome and quality of the two agreements that were produced, they actually far exceed my expectations.
