Project Description

In 2023, a business in Colorado sought assistance in drafting a consignment agreement tailored for the resale of surplus inventory on an online marketplace. The client required a clear and concise template to outline the terms of their consignment deals, including commission structures, inventory management, and provisions for unsellable parts. They aimed to ensure a comprehensive understanding with partner companies about the ownership of inventory and the return process for items that did not sell within an agreed timeframe. As a result, the client received one proposal from a licensed lawyer, with a flat fee bid ranging from $999, submitted to meet the client's deadline within one week.

Can I terminate a consignment agreement if the consignee fails to sell my goods within the agreed upon time frame?

I entered into a consignment agreement with a local boutique to sell my handmade jewelry. The agreement specified that the boutique would have six months to sell the jewelry and pay me a percentage of the sales. However, it has been eight months and the boutique has only sold a few pieces, failing to meet their obligations. Can I terminate the consignment agreement and retrieve my unsold jewelry?

Hello! If the boutique has failed to meet its obligations under the agreement (e.g., not selling within the specified timeframe), you may have grounds to terminate the contract. If the agreement explicitly allows termination after six months without sufficient sales, your position is stronger. If the agreement does not specify a termination process, you may still argue that the boutique's failure to sell your items within the agreed timeframe constitutes a breach. If you have a follow-up question or would like a consultation or further legal services, you can let me know. There should be a button on your page or app that allows you to request a proposal from me specifically for the legal service you request. Best regards, Attorney Damien B.

How to proofread a legal document?

I’m doing a consigning agreement on a piece of art work. I’m lending it back to the private seller for 6 months. I will have a 1 page document drafted by someone who does this often(not lawyer though). Just wanted a proofread by a professional such as yourself.

This platform allows attorneys who are registered to see your job and apply your needs. First, please go into the platform and post the job - "Need one page review of agreement". After posting, attorneys who are interested will then send you proposals as to how much their services will cost. You will receive email and messages on the site from attorneys who choose to engage in your job posting. Then, you can schedule a time to talk with the attorney or attorneys you would like and finally hire them. Hope that helps Donya
