Project Description

In 2023, a small production company in California sought professional assistance with a content licensing agreement for a screenplay. The client aimed to have the existing agreement thoroughly reviewed, seeking legal advice on language and recommendations for additional terms before presenting it to various studios. This review was imperative to ensure the terms were favorable and protective of the client's interests, as the screenplay optioning was a significant step in their business development. As a result, the client received seven proposals from licensed lawyers, with flat fee bids ranging from $300 to $2,000, all submitted to complete the work within the requested deadline of one week. The engagement not only addressed the immediate legal needs but also opened the potential for ongoing collaboration with the selected attorney.
