Project Description

In 2026, a personal client in Texas posted a project seeking assistance with a living trust review. The client required a Texas-licensed estate planning attorney to evaluate a First Amendment to an existing living trust, which involved several modifications aimed at enhancing protections for the family and their assets. Key objectives included ensuring legal sufficiency under Texas law and addressing specific provisions that might affect the trust’s enforceability and the interests of the children. As a result, the client received one proposal from a licensed lawyer, with a flat fee bid of $2,000, submitted to complete the review within the client's preferred timeframe of over one week.

Hi. I'm not sure I understand your question. Everyone should have a will regardless of whether you have a trust. The question is whether you need a trust. A lot of that has to do with avoiding probate or some other potential uses depending on the goals and needs. But a typical family would use a trust to better organize everything and control distribution while avoiding going through the court process called probate.
