What is a Basic Lease?
A basic lease is a contract between a landlord and tenant that serves to create a simple rental agreement between the two parties. The contract includes the basic details surrounding the rental of a certain property and includes details such as the location of the property, the term of the lease agreement, and the cost of rental. It also establishes certain fees, such as late fees or transaction fees, that can be charged to the tenant during their stay at the rental property.
By drawing and signing a basic lease, landlords and tenants can sucessfully enter into a lease without relying on a long-form lease contract to do so.
