What is Duty of Care?
Duty of care is the general duty held by board members for fiduciary responsibility for a startup. Board members have a duty of care when making financial and legal decisions on behalf of the startup. Not upholding the general duty of care could result in a civil action filed by shareholders, company executives, or customers.
