What is Going Private?
Going private is the conversion process that switches a company that is publicly traded into a private entity. This happens through a series of financial and legal transactions. Afterwards, the company is removed from stock exchange listings and cannot be purchased. After going private, shareholders no longer have any control over operations.

- Example 1. Eliminates costs of being a publicly traded company
- Example 2. Reduces liability for some staff (i.e., directors)
- Example 3. Management can focus on long term goals
- Example 4. Allows for flexibility with regulations and rules
