My obsession with real estate law was solidified when I was working in Virginia at a law firm outside DC. I ran the settlement (escrow) department and learned the ins and outs of transactions and the unique needs of the parties. My husband and I bought our first home in Virginia in 2012 and despite being an attorney, there was so much we didn’t know, especially when it came to our HOA and our mortgage. Our real estate agent was a wonderful resource for finding our home and negotiating some of the key terms, but there was something missing in the process. I’ve spent the last 10 years helping those who were in the same situation we were in better understand the process.

I have managed three real estate platforms, including a national real estate development firm, a real estate family office with over $1 billion of commercial real estate under management, and serving as the Chief Real Estate Officer for Orange County, CA. My experience also includes my current position of general counsel for a credit card processing company in Washington. I have been in this role for just over one (1) year. I’m currently pursuing remote career opportunities, as I currently reside in Wilmington, NC. I moved to Wilmington in September 2019 (because my partner became a federal judge here) and started my own California law practice (while working from Wilmington) in February 2020.
