What is Light Preferred?
Light preferred equity, also known as series seed preferred, is a financing term used to differentiate between hierarchies of stock. Light preferred stock differs from typical preferred securities due to its reduced transaction costs. Additionally, a stockholder who owns light preferred shares have less control over a startup than they would with traditional preferred equity.
