What is a Registered Agent?
A registered agent is a hired entity whose job is to act as a liaison between a startup and the local or federal government. These agents work to make sure that companies are aware and fully informed on any legal proceedings or complications that are being brought against them. The necessity of hiring a registered agent depends on the size of the company, since small startups can save money by acting as their own registered agent.
