What is a Round?
A round, also known as a round lot, is a number of securities put into the stock exchange by a startup company. Generally, a lot of rounds involves a minimum of 100 shares or a larger number of shares that are issued in multiples of 100. In bonds, a round of lots is equivalent to either $100,000 or a larger dollar amount in multiples of 100,000.

- Example 1. Allows for share price to be easily calculated

- Example 3. Needed for short or covered calls
