Project Description

In 2024, an individual in Michigan posted a project seeking assistance with drafting a home improvement contract. The client was planning to take out a substantial loan to finance the completion of the basement in their father’s home and wanted to ensure that the contract included provisions for repayment. Specifically, they requested terms that would guarantee they would receive at least the loan amount plus interest if the home were sold, or alternatively, that the property would be transferred into their name upon loan repayment. As a result, the client received four proposals from licensed attorneys, with flat fee bids ranging from $400 to $899, all submitted to meet the requested deadline of less than a week.

Getting ripped off and over charged

Signed a contract and was told I'm getting top of the line products and I'm actually getting a lesser grade everything. I called within the 3 days and the contractor won't cancel the contract. I can't afford to be ripped off...

I suggest you place a proposal on this forum so lawyers can review and you can schedule a consultation. A lawyer needs to review the terms of the contract you reference.
