What is a Small Business Investment Company?
The Small Business Administration in the United States government appoints special small business lenders that operate a small business investment company (SBIC). These companies provide capital to startups with debt financing and equity. SBICs are known for their unique funding options and are ideal for startups that have had a difficult time finding private investors to fund certain stages of their company.
