Project Description

In 2023, a personal client in Virginia posted a project seeking assistance with reviewing a home improvement contract. The client was particularly concerned about understanding their options for exiting the contract after the completion of the first scope of work, focusing on the kitchen, and recovering funds related to the unfinished basement. They sought guidance on dispute resolution, especially in light of significant delays caused by contractor negligence and the contractor's failure to provide a promised schedule. As a result, the client received four proposals from licensed lawyers, with flat fee bids ranging from $650 to $1,199, all submitted to meet the work's requested deadline of one week.

Getting ripped off and over charged

Signed a contract and was told I'm getting top of the line products and I'm actually getting a lesser grade everything. I called within the 3 days and the contractor won't cancel the contract. I can't afford to be ripped off...

I suggest you place a proposal on this forum so lawyers can review and you can schedule a consultation. A lawyer needs to review the terms of the contract you reference.
