Project Description

In 2024, a personal client in Illinois posted a project seeking assistance with the review of a home improvement contract. The client was facing issues related to the aftermath of fire damage, which included packing, cleaning, storing, and delivering all contents of their home. They were particularly concerned that the contractor had returned their belongings without rearranging them properly, demanding payment before any further action could be taken, which heightened the urgency for legal guidance. As a result, the client received six proposals from licensed lawyers, with flat fee bids ranging from $199 to $499, all submitted to complete the work within the requested deadline of less than one week.

Getting ripped off and over charged

Signed a contract and was told I'm getting top of the line products and I'm actually getting a lesser grade everything. I called within the 3 days and the contractor won't cancel the contract. I can't afford to be ripped off...

I suggest you place a proposal on this forum so lawyers can review and you can schedule a consultation. A lawyer needs to review the terms of the contract you reference.
