What is the meaning of open source?
Note that open source is any program whose source code is publicly available for use or modification. This allows users and other developers to change the program as they see fit. For example, open source software is often developed in a collaborative and decentralized way and relies heavily on peer review as well as community production.
This means that anyone can change and manipulate a piece of software to make sure that the program works as intended.
